It's an ever-present dilemma: when traveling, do you opt for a hotel room or rent a home? There are pros and cons to each: Is it privacy you crave? 24-hour room service? Your own kitchen? A private pool? Thanks to competition from the luxury vacation rental market—especially Airbnb Luxe—hotels around the world are upping the ante when it comes to their private residence offerings. Below, we've compiled the best of the bunch. They are all new, spacious, stunning, and fully stocked with all the amenities of a hotel (from butlers to daily breakfast). Now you'll never have to choose between a house or hotel again.

Opening in November, the Residences at Kauri Cliffs is the latest addition to the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs on New Zealand's North Island. The three homes in the portfolio each contain four bedrooms, measure more than 3,700 square feet, and feature amenities like a 25-foot saltwater pool, access to resort activities like fishing, golf, and surfing, all farm-to-table meals included, and, of course, that incredible New Zealand view. We reported earlier this year on why everyone you know is moving to the country—here's one more reason to start packing.

Belmond already has a splendid property on the Amalfi Coast, the Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello, but for those who want a taste of what it would be like to be lord of your own Italian villa, there is the new Belmond Villa Margherita. The two-suite, 2,000-square-foot property features such delicate details as hand-painted murals, antique terracotta, 19th-century Neapolitan furnishings, and Fortuny fabrics. Oh, and it's surrounded by Mediterranean gardens and has a rooftop terrace where you might enlist a private chef to help you throw a dinner party against the backdrop of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Casa Cardón is one of three new hacienda-style residences at the Mexico resort. With 10,870 square feet of space and five bedrooms, it's the perfect spot for family reunions or friends trips, or at least a perfect excuse to gather 10 of your favorite people. Plus, complimentary services include a private butler, daily breakfast prepared by your own in-house chef, mezcal tastings, a BBQ night, fitness classes, spa treatments, and a nightly aromatherapy menu.

For visitors willing to make the journey to Marlon Brando's idyllic—and ultra secluded—French Polynesian island retreat, there is now a new lodging option: Last month, the first of four Brando Residences made its debut. The 3-bedroom home sits on its own 1.25-acre lot with a private pool and beach. And in keeping with the resort's LEED Platinum certification (the late actor's dream was to construct a resort with near-zero carbon emission), the residence, like the resort, will leave as little footprint as possible and be powered by solar energy and biofuel.

Nantucket's grand dame hotel, which reopened in April following its first major renovation in 30 years, commissioned #verytandc home decor brand Serena & Lily to redo its three-bedroom standalone Anchorage House. The collaboration, which was unveiled in June, has transformed it into the quintessential New England beach house of your dreams (think blue and white color palettes, watercolor ocean prints, nautical rope mirrors). Here's another incentive: guests checking into the house will get the keys to a BMW SUV.

The iconic Lake Como property's standalone 7,000-square-foot Villa Cima was originally built in 1815 but this summer it got a little refresh thanks to Loro Piana. The Italian textile and clothing company outfitted the furniture, walls, and windows of the three-floor, four-bedroom space in its finest linens, silks, velvets, and cashmere. It'll be really hard to get yourself to leave the house, but that's what dolce far niente is all about anyway.

This summer, Katikies Mykonos, the boutique luxury hotel on Greece's most famous island, introduced Katikies Villas Mykonos, a collection of 12 one- to three-bedroom villas built in a secluded location above Elia Beach. Even though Katikies Mykonos is located 10 miles away, guests of the villas have access to the main hotel pool, gym, spa, and restaurant. Those not willing to make the trek can opt for in-room massages and 24-hour room service. Plus, the pools at these villas are said to be the largest private pools on the island.

After Hurricane Irma, the Anguilla resort closed its doors and underwent a year-long renovation, adding rooms, suites, restaurants, cabanas, and two new private villas. Located on picture-perfect Mead's Bay, the two properties (the five-bedroom Kishti West and the six-bedroom Kishti East) are located side by side and can be booked together as one massive 11-bedroom house. Infinity pools, butlers, and chefs on hand mean you don't have to venture out at all, though we recommend checking out the new Auberge Spa at the resort.

The private island resort just two miles off the coast of Antigua has 21 residences in its portfolio. This one, called Lost Puffin, is one of the newest offerings. It has enough space for 14 guests and includes a butler, private chef, house manager, and gardener. And that pool will put all other pools to shame: it measures 1,917 square feet.

All of the accommodations at this resort on a small island in Thailand's Phang Nga Bay (just a 45-minute boat ride from Phuket) are villa style and measure at least 1,600 square feet. For couples who really want to splurge, there is the new View, a one-bedroom, 2,400-square-foot villa with a private cinema, infinity pool, fitness studio, and glass walls throughout so you won't even have to get out of bed to catch that glorious sunrise.
