1. Four Seasons Hong Kong

Treats from the Four Seasons Hong Kong

The location is perfect for shopaholics: on top of IFC and next to the Landmark. Its Michelin-starred restaurants Caprice and Lung King Heen are sublime. Kids will love the pool that looks out to Victoria Harbor. The service is unparalleled.

2. Singita Lebombo Lodge

The picturesque lounge at Singita

When it comes to safari, Singita knows best. You’ll feel like you’re experiencing The Lion King live! This is one safari destination every kid will love. It’s an inclusive resort that serves superb food and wine, takes you on two safari trips a day, and has great relaxation activities between trips.

3. Suiboku Niseko

A post shared by Kenneth Choy (@kenneth_choy) on

It’s the best place for skiing and après skiing in Asia. The kids will love its Alpine-like snow, delicious Japanese food, and a friendly English-speaking crowd. Suiboku has a very modern yet cozy place right in front of the majestic Mount Yotei. The three-bedroom suite has a kitchen and dining facility with a beautiful fireplace.

4. Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa

A superb resort for families because it’s self-contained. There’s an extensive list of activities and great restaurants to dine in. The service is impeccable and pampering. I also like the security the resort provides. The best villas are Villa 13, the only one with direct access to the beach, and Villa 9, which is spacious and has the best view.

5. One&Only Hayman Island

A seaplane ride at the One&Only Cayman Island

It’s one of the Whitsunday Islands, the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. It has a list of month-long activities for your children. I love the seaplane ride that visits various islands on the reef, especially Whitehaven Beach. The cuisine is excellent.

6. Palace Hotel Tokyo

The lobby of Palace Hotel Tokyo

It’s in front of the Imperial Palace, where you can enjoy walking around especially during the cherry blossom season. It’s also on top of a subway station, so you have easy access to all of Tokyo. The restaurants are numerous and the food is heavenly. Sushi Kanesaka is a favorite.

7. The Peninsula Shanghai

Outstanding hotel by the Bund with sweeping views of Shanghai. Rooms are spacious. The Peninsula Arcade and the five restaurants around it make this my favorite hotel in China.

8. Corinthia Hotel London

New hotels from restored buildings in an urban hub take my fancy. This structure is luscious. Grand chandeliers in the lobby, brand new modern rooms (try the bi-floor penthouses), and excellent service welcome you. The location (near the River Thames, Westminster, Trafalgar Square, and Covent Garden) will keep the kids playful during a beautiful stay.

9. Castiglione del Bosco, Tuscany

Sights in Castiglione

Magnificence! Its feel is of Tuscan opulence. Located in Montalcino, strategic for wine (Brunello) and food lovers, the castle is owned by the Ferragamo family. It’s near the beautiful towns of Florence and Siena, and sits atop a hill, overlooking beautiful vineyards where kids can play. There are ruins and also a quaint chapel where you can get married or renew your vows (which my husband and I did two and a half years ago).

10. Carneros Inn, Napa Valley

This is what Napa should be about. Cozy villas with a fireplace, exciting wine country atmosphere, and a swimming pool in the hills. The architecture and interiors are both modern American and fresh contemporary that makes you want to stay in and drink your Napa wine while snuggling up. It’s located amid some of the best wineries.
