WHO IS YOUR TYPICAL GUEST?

We like to refer to our demographic as a “state of mind” – guests seeking an authentic and locally-inspired experience with all the comforts of luxury amenities and service. Our guests cover a wide range of ages and occasions for their stay; however, the common thread is that they crave a connection to other people and places and enjoy sharing their stories in creative ways.

ARE YOU ABLE TO MENTION ANY CELEBRITIES THAT THE HOTEL HAS HOSTED?

Although we maintain the privacy of our celebrity guests, I can share the names of a few guests who have publicly shared their Andaz experience. Rafael Nadal, Lance Bass, Michael Turchin have previously enjoyed our resort and last year the Kardashian family had a memorable dinner at Ostra, our signature seafood restaurant, that included fire dancers under the stars.

WHAT’S ONE LOCAL RECOMMENDATION YOU ALWAYS GIVE FIRST-TIME VISITORS?

Take advantage of as many of the resort’s guided activities as you can. The Andaz family is filled with some amazing individuals who are eager to exchange stories, share their passions and insider tips on how to best enjoy their country. Our mixology and barista class are two of the most popular activities…and many friendships begin with a conversation over a beverage.

CAN YOU SHARE AN INTERESTING TIDBIT ABOUT THE HOTEL'S HISTORY?

Our resort has the good fortune of hosting many honeymoon couples. However, a couple of years ago, we welcomed a couple in an unusual state—the bride was sobbing uncontrollably. During the check-in process, we learned that their wedding back in the US had been completely rained out and was far from the wedding of her dreams. Our team decided to take action and mobilized to recreate an intimate wedding for them. Within 24 hours the entire team mobilized to create the setting, complete with wedding gazebo, ceremony and a celebration ride around the resort on a personalized “just married” golf cart. The groom was able to completely surprise his new bride and set their new marriage back on the right track.
