Celebrities are a well-traveled bunch. When not jetting around the world for their jobs, whether it be a film set in London, a concert venue in Hong Kong, or even a seminar in Davos, they're likely en route to some fabulous vacation spot, like the yacht-filled island of St. Barth's or the glitzy mountain resort of Aspen. These are the top celebrity vacation hotspots that Hollywood heavyweights flock to when they need a little R&R.

CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO

Cabo San Lucas is a south-of-the border getaway that's long attracted celebs like Jennifer Aniston and Chris Martin. They appreciate the quick flight from LA, the gorgeous Sea of Cortez views, and the pampering hotels like Las Ventanas al Paraiso, Esperanza, and The Cape.

Longtime visitor George Clooney likes Cabo so much he even built his own villa — right next door to the one owned by his BFFs Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford.

FRENCH RIVIERA, FRANCE

This sun-drenched playground has always attracted the glitterati, especially during The Cannes Film Festival (Christoph Waltz and Nicole Kidman made appearances this year).

While there are dreamy hotels, such as the Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat and Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, many prefer to charter a yacht. Gwyneth Paltrow was recently spotted aboard one in St. Tropez, while J. Lo and A-Rod (J-Rod?) cruised around the posh resort town of Antibes.

THE HAMPTONS, NEW YORK

This beach getaway on Long Island's South Fork attracts megawatt celebrities fleeing NYC's humid summers. Matt Lauer, Scarlett Johansson, and Jerry Seinfeld own homes here, and Lady Gaga was recently spotted strolling on the beach with her new beau.

Top restaurants like Jean-Georges at the Topping Rose House attract bold-faced names, as does the East Hampton classic Nick & Toni's (Paul McCartney is a fan).

SAINT BARTHÉLEMY, CARIBBEAN

This très chic island, with its gorgeous beaches, glitzy nightlife, and designer boutiques, is a little slice of France in the Caribbean. The harbor in Gustavia is always filled with mega-yachts owned by Russian oligarchs or chartered by the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

Those staying on terra firma will likely be found at Eden Rock (owned by Pippa Middleton's new in-laws) and partying at Nikki Beach.

ASPEN, COLORADO

Malia Obama turned heads when she was spotted with friends earlier this year at Aspen's ski-in, ski-out Cloud Nine Bistro — but she's not the only well-known name who favors this swanky ski resort in the Colorado Rockies. Kate Hudson, Mariah Carey, and Will Smith are fans, too.

You might find them at The Little Nell, the luxury hotel at the base of Ajax Mountain, dining at Matsuhisa Aspen, or sipping a cocktail at the Hotel Jerome's beloved J-Bar.

THE ISLANDS OF HAWAII, HAWAII

Hawaii, with its black-sand beaches and scenic waterfalls, is a top celebrity vacation spot. Oprah Winfrey, Mark Zuckerberg, and Drew Barrymore own homes here (Julia Roberts just sold her longtime Kauai estate).

Other fans of this island paradise include Eva Longoria, who recently vacationed on Oahu, and Fergie and hubby Josh Duhamel, who were spotted taking a dip on a Maui beach. Resort-wise, top spots include the Montage Kapalua Bay and the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MASSACHUSETTS

This low-key island off the coast of Massachusetts is a favorite of former President Obama (along with Hawaii, of course), and homeowners include Ted Danson, Carly Simon, and Diane Sawyer. You might run into them, or visiting stars like Jake Gyllenhaal and Neil Patrick Harris, in the charming town of Edgartown, with historic hotels like The Charlotte Inn and the Harbor View Hotel, or at the famous Black Dog Tavern in Vineyard Haven, perhaps lunching on quahog chowder and a lobster roll.
