Dennis and Tessa Valdes first met in 1993, during an impromptu scuba dive in Anilao, Batangas, according to an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer. They went on their first date—an Italian opera in Hong Kong—six months later. Two months after that, Dennis proposed marriage, and they were wed in a medieval-themed celebration that people still talk about today.

Fast forward 25 years, and the couple renewed their marital vows at a joyful African-themed ceremony and reception held at Santuario de San Antonio Parish and Manila Polo Club. Family members and close friends gathered to celebrate the event with them. In spectacular Tessa fashion, the wedding party and its guests were dressed in ornate garb fitting the chosen theme.
