It was the first bridal gown that Lauren designed for someone outside of his own family.

The bride wore Ralph Lauren. Well, to her second wedding ceremony. Priyanka Chopra married Nick Jonas on Saturday, December 1, in one of two wedding ceremonies that the couple held in Jodhpur, India. And the second gown that Chopra wore by the classic American designer boasted some magnificent details in its custom design.

The sheer, long sleeved Ralph Lauren stunner was hand embroidered to feature floral and scroll motifs, lace-effect tulle appliques, scalloped cuffs and a high-neck collar for a romantic effect. All in all, it took 1,826 hours to create.

Some more details about the show-stopping look: the embroidered outer layer was embellished with 2,390,000 mother of pearl sequins. And what does one pick to accessorize something so delicate and intricate? If you're Priyanka Chopra, the answer is a pair of custom Jimmy Choo heels, and a headline making 75-foot veil.

There were also some sentimental touches to the gown, too. It was hand stitched with eight different words and phrases of importance to the bride, including Nicholas Jerry Jonas (Nick's full name), their wedding date, and her parents' names, Madhu and Ashok. The finishing touch: a piece of Priyanka's now mother-in-law's wedding dress was also sewn into the gown.

The splendor of the gown was amplified by the fact that it joins a total of three other wedding dresses that Lauren has designed over the last 50 years — dresses that he created for his daughter, daughter-in-law and niece to wear for their nuptials — People mag reports. In other words, Priyanka Chopra is the only bride ever to wear custom Ralph Lauren to her wedding and not be related to the designer.

This sentimental value is not lost on Chopra, either. She explained to People how honored she felt by Lauren's offer. “For the Western wedding, we had been talking to a bunch of incredible designers, but ultimately when Ralph Lauren approached us, I learned that Ralph has only designed three wedding dresses in 50 years — one for his daughter, his daughter in law, and his niece. I was blown away.”

To complement his bride, Jonas wore a Ralph Lauren Purple label double-breasted black tuxedo and custom patent shoes. Ralph Lauren also dressed the 12 bridesmaids, 12 groomsmen, four flower girls and one ring bearer. The bride and groom's parents all wore looks by the designer as well.

It was a fitting nod to the couple's history too: they were dressed by Ralph Lauren and attended the Met Gala together in 2016.
