Update: Paris Hilton lost the $2-million diamond engagement ring her fiancé, Chris Zylka, proposed with earlier this year while partying at a Miami club early Friday morning, Page Six reports.

But the story has a happy ending: "After an exhaustive search of the VIP area—led by an astonishingly calm Zylka, 32, and an army of security, while distraught Hilton, 37, waited nervously in floods of tears—her giant rock was miraculously found in an ice bucket two tables down from where Hilton had been partying," according to the New York Post column.

A source said that Hilton "cried with relief" when the ring was safely back on her finger.

Original: When Paris Hilton shared photos of her mountaintop proposal yesterday, two thoughts passed through the internet's collective conscious: "awwwww, Paris!" and then "that ring is HUGE!"

A little sleuthing revealed that Hilton's ring is a 20-carat pear shaped diamond by celebrity jewelry Greene & Co. Two carats of smaller diamonds surround the center stone, giving the ring a total of 22 carats and a value of $2 million.

Greene & Co.'s Michael Greene spoke to E! News, revealing that Hilton's new fiancé Chris Zylka picked up the ring in Beverly Hills the weekend before Christmas. "I had never met Chris before, but he reached out to me," Greene told the outlet."He came to see me in New York and said he had been thinking about this and wanting to do it. He wanted the ring to be perfect, exactly what she wanted. He had been asking around the family for tips and ideas."

The jeweler added that the pear-shaped diamond was inspired by a ring belonging to Hilton's mother, Kathy. “Paris, at one point in time, told Chris she really loved her mother’s pear-shaped diamond, and when Chris came to me that was his request,” Greene said to People. "The pear-shaped really jumped out for him and ultimately for her."

Greene added that Zylka honored "all the traditions" before proposing. "He told me he had to set up a time to meet up with Paris’ father to ask for her hand in marriage," Greene said."He did the whole thing."

Based on what the couple has shared from the Instagram-worthy proposal, Zylka aced the ring design. Hilton couldn't even wait for him to finish proposing before she put the ring on:
