Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger Are Already Planning Their Wedding

This morning, Chris Pratt fans woke up to a surprise social media announcement: after a whirlwind romance, he and Katherine Schwarzenegger are engaged. "Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes!" Pratt wrote in a caption. "I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!"
According to a source for People, "Chris and Katherine are very happy together. They’re very compatible and have a lot in common." Cheers to the happy couple! Now it's time to get to planning that wedding.
Here's everything we know so far about Pratt and Schwarzenegger's upcoming nuptials.
ACCORDING TO PRATT, THE WEDDING WILL BE WINTER-THEMED.
The actor told Us Weekly that the couple was planning "A little, you know, maybe fall, winter kind of thing and you know, we’ve got a lot to get done"—although they haven't "really" started wedding planning in earnest. Judging by these details, it seems we can expect a date sometime next winter.
He also added that Jack, his six-year-old son with Anna Farris, was "so thrilled" for his dad's nuptials.
THERE WILL LIKELY BE A RELIGIOUS ASPECT TO THE WEDDING.
Faith is reportedly important to both Pratt and Schwarzenegger. The couple has been spotted attending L.A. mega church Hillsong, also known as a favorite of the likes of Justin Bieber and Kourtney Kardashian. As Schwarzenegger's mother Maria Shriver is said to be close with the church's celebrity pastor, Chad Veach, it's possible that there could even be a Hillsong bent to the couple's wedding.
PRATT'S SON WILL LIKELY BE INVOLVED IN THE CEREMONY.
Pratt's 6-year-old son Jack (whose mother is Pratt's ex-wife, Anna Farris), has reportedly been involved with his and Schwarzenegger's relationship at every step—like this past Halloween, when they joined Farris and her current beau to celebrate the holiday with Jack.
"Along with Katherine and Michael, they all took Jack trick-or-treating in Pacific Palisades," a source told People. "It seems they all get along really well. Everyone had a good time."
It stands to reason that Jack might have a sweet role in his father's upcoming wedding—perhaps as a ring bearer or young groomsman.
WE'VE GOTTEN A FIRST GLIMPSE AT THE ENGAGEMENT RING.
In the photo Pratt shared announcing their engagement, we can clearly see the (very large) ring on Schwarzenegger's finger. Kathryn Money, Brilliant Earth’s VP, Strategy and Merchandising, estimates the ring features an estimated six or seven carat center diamond that is either an elongated cushion cut or oval shaped in a delicate solitaire setting.
IF THE COUPLE KEEPS WITH KENNEDY FAMILY TRADITION, WE COULD BE LOOKING AT A BIG BASH.
Schwarzenegger's maternal grandmother is Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister of JFK and RFK, so there could more than a few Kennedys at the wedding. The Kennedys are also known for large, stylish nuptials—we'll see if the Pratt and Schwarzenegger take cues from them for their celebration.
