Last night, Philippine business empresses Tessie Sy Coson and Robina Gokongwei were persuaded to sing a duet at a birthday dinner in honor of Millet Mananquil, lifestyle editor of the Philippine Star, hosted by Peter and Elena Coyiuto.

To the delight of other guests present, they gamely sang “A Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Paul Simon.

Sy Coson is the vice chair of SM Investments Corporation and the chair of BDO Unibank, the Philippines’ largest bank. She is the daughter of Henry Sy, who tops the Forbes 2018 list of the Philippines’ richest men.

Gokongwei Pe is the president and COO of Robinsons Retail Holdings. She is the daughter of John Gokongwei, Jr. who is number two on the same Forbes list.
