Over the holiday weekend, former first daughter Malia Obama celebrated her 19th birthday like a true young New Yorker—with an evening out in the east end of Long Island.

Obama, who was born on the Fourth of July (talk about patriotic), reportedly gathered at Surf Lodge in Montauk with six or seven friends for an evening of dessert and dancing.

“No one was drinking,” one source told Page Six, also noting that the group ordered a brownie with candles to mark the occasion.

“They were dancing and kept wanting to have the music turned up,” another source said. “It was crazy how normal and down-to-earth she seemed. People kept saying Secret Service was there, but they were very discreet. I don’t think people even realized Malia was there.”

The eldest Obama daughter has been busy this summer, traveling with her family while also interning at Harvey Weinstein. Most recently, she was spotted in Bali with her sister Sasha and her parents, Barack and Michelle.
