Former senator Serge Osmeña was able to relax this year as his children organized the anniversary celebration for him and his wife, Bettina Lopez Osmeña.

Bettina described the delightful evening on her Instagram account.

"Never got something like this in 34 years. Love it just the same," Bettina captioned the photo of her letter.

"The kids wanted to surprise me with a belated wedding anniversary dinner. They got their dad to invite me to dinner with them cooking at L'Opeña."

Her husband had given her a handwritten invitation to dinner a day earlier.

Their children prepared a lovely dinner in their family home, which was set up as a mock restaurant called L’Opeña (a creative portmanteau of Lopez and Osmeña). Daughters Bea and Andi showed their parents to their table, and acted as servers during dinner. Bea even sported a fake mustache.

The mood was set with beautiful decorations and a specially made playlist by their son, Joey, as the couple was treated to a candlelit Italian meal.

It started with a Mrs. O salad from The Last Chukker (the only dish that wasn't homemade).

Next, squash soup.

Steak.

“Flan a cotta,” a play on Christina Tosi’s panna cotta recipe.

A “Canoodling Couch” was also set up for after dinner.

The dinner also came with a touching letter penned by daughter, Dani.

"Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with sweet, kindhearted children," Bettina ended her post.
