How Sexual Harassment Allegations Could Affect Ryan Seacrest's Career

The television and radio personality is continuing his tradition of hosting the red carpet arrivals ceremony for E! at the Oscars.

Ryan Seacrest is hosting E! Live from the Red Carpet at this year's Academy Awards days after adamantly denying sexual harassment allegations made against him by his former E! News stylist.

The 46-year-old Seacrest has had the red carpet job since 2006, and an investigation into the stylist's claims conducted for the network by outside counsel found "insufficient evidence" to support the claims.

The hosting gig is one of many for Seacrest, who got his start in the entertainment business as a radio DJ in Atlanta when he was in high school. He attended the University of Georgia but dropped out when he was 19 and moved to Hollywood. Since then he's gone on to take over for Casey Kasem and host American Top 40, a syndicated radio program. His television hosting career has included American Idol, New Year's Rockin' Eve, the Fox game show Knock Knock Live, and most recently, Live with Kelly and Ryan.

He also produces eight television shows, including E!'s number one hit Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and has a menswear line, Ryan Seacrest Distinction.

All these revenue streams have made Seacrest very rich. Forbes named him one of the top-earning celebrities of 2017 with an income of $58 million. His net worth today, according to, is $380 million.

As far as the allegations are concerned, Seacrest has previously said he was sorry if he made the stylist feel "anything but respected." He has always disputed the allegations and called them "reckless."
