Just two days after winning the coveted title of Miss Universe 2018, Filipino-Australian Catriona Gray is bringing home the crown to the Philippines on December 19. She will be landing in her native province of Albay, where her mother hails. The provincial government is reportedly preparing a grand homecoming celebration for Gray, who flew in from Bangkok, Thailand via a private plane this afternoon.

This isn’t the first time Gray is receiving such royal treatment. Local government officials have rolled out the red carpet for her when she arrived after placing in the Top 5 of Miss World in 2016. Her mother, Normita Magnayon Gray, grew up in the town of Oas.
