The pendulum of public opinion often swing wildly in Hollywood, but this week no one has felt the shift quite like James Franco. On Sunday, he won a Best Actor Golden Globe for his portrayal of Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist, which he also directed. He did so wearing a Time's Up pin, a nod of solidarity to the movement against sexual harassment and assault taking place on the red carpet that evening.

Thursday morning, Franco was accused of sexual misconduct by five women in the L.A. Times.

Franco may be facing criticism from the media, but he remains a wealthy man for now. Celebritynetworth.com put his fortune at $30 million, a sum he earned throughout a three-decade career for work on projects such as 127 Hours (for which he earned an Oscar nomination), Pineapple Express, and the Spiderman franchise in addition to many other projects. He has worked as a model, published a collection of short stories, taught film classes at NYU and the University of Southern California, and in 2011 he co-hosted the Academy Awards with Anne Hathaway.

Through a lawyer, Franco has denied the allegations against him, and prior to the article, he also spoke out on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert about social media posts criticizing him for wearing the Time's Up pin at the Golden Globes, implying additional misdeeds.

"I want to say I wore it because I do support it," Franco said to Colbert. "I support it. I support change," he continued, speaking about the initiative.

"The things that I heard on Twitter are not accurate," he also said. “If there is restitution to be made I will make it. If I have done something wrong, I will fix it. I have to.”
