You're not the only one smitten by Vanessa Kirby’s acting on The Crown. The 28-year-old actress has apparently caught the eye of actor Tom Cruise, who was so impressed by her performance as Princess Margaret on the acclaimed Netflix series that he had producers cast Kirby in the sixth installment of Mission Impossible.

According to an InTouch Weekly source, “Tom flipped for her work. He told the other Mission Impossible producers that he had to have Vanessa for a crucial role in the franchise’s sixth installment.”

Starring alongside Cruise and Kirby in the film are Superman’s Henry Cavill, The Avengers’ Jeremy Runner, and Rebecca Ferguson. Audiences may expect M:I 6 in cinemas by 2018. Filming kicks off on April 10 in Paris.

Not much has been divulged about Kirby’s role in the action film, but we will see more of Kirby very soon, as she returns to the screen later this year to reprise her role as Queen Elizabeth’s younger sister, Princess Margaret, on The Crown.

Sources report that Cruise fell for Kirby’s “endless charm and energy,” and the insider gushes that “they had instant chemistry, and of course she got the role.” ET Online reports that despite all the talk, the two stars are not dating as “production hasn’t even started yet.”

It has been five years since the actor divorced his wife, Katie Holmes, with whom he has a daughter, Suri. Before that union, Tom had been married to his Days of Thunder co-star Nicole Kidman, following his divorce from actress Mimi Rogers.

Cruise is no stranger to real-life royalty. Earlier in March, Cruise crossed paths with Prince Phillip at Buckingham Palace during a dinner for Outward Bound trust, which both men support. The charity seeks to improve the lives of children and young adults through education and outdoor activities.
