Scarlett Johansson unveiled her upcoming Marvel movie Black Widow at Comic-Con over the weekend, but the film wasn't the only exciting update from the actress: Johansson also debuted her striking engagement ring from Colin Jost at the event.

Johansson and Saturday Night Live star Jost confirmed their engagement in May of 2019, but fans got the very first peek at the ring when Johansson took to the Comic-Con stage. The ring appears to be an 11 carat uniquely shaped pear champagne diamond set on a dark brown band, according to Kathryn Money, VP of Strategy & Merchandising for Brilliant Earth. Depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center diamond, Money estimates the cost of the ring is between $350,000 and $400,000, approximately.

In addition to being a stunning piece of jewelry, the ring may have an impressive pedigree: according to jewelry expert Marion Fasel, it appears to be the work of James de Givenchy, the nephew of famed fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy and the designer of Taffin, a jewelry brand based in New York. While the brand has not yet confirmed if they created Johansson's ring, Taffin shared a nearly identical ring on the brand's Instagram feed last month:

“Someone once described James de Givenchy as the James Bond of the jewelry world," says Town & Country Editor-in-Chief Stellene Volandes, who wrote about de Givenchy in her book Jeweler: Masters, Mavericks, and Visionaries of Modern Design. "He is stealth and discreet which is, Im sure one of the reasons he was chosen by the couple—if, that is, the reports are true. He is one of what I call "the Super Jewelers," a global network of private artists who work largely by appointment and by commission. I will say that one of his signatures is setting super rare and important stones on thin bands of colored ceramic. And that he is a master at setting stones with bold but perfectly correct proportions, as well at making the metal supporting that stone almost invisible. And I’ll leave it at that.”

This ring is a glamorous departure from Johansson's previous engagement rings—the actress was previously married to Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011, and then to Romain Dauriac from 2014 until 2017. Johansson's ring from Reynolds was a round-cut diamond set on a yellow gold band, while Dauriac gave the actress an Art Deco-inspired ring with three round diamonds surrounded by additional rectangular stones.

Johansson and Jost reportedly first met all the way back in 2006, when Jost was a writer on Saturday Night Live and the actress hosted the show for the first time, according to People. The couple began dating in 2017.

Johansson and Jost stepped out for their first appearance as a couple at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in November of that year.

The duo has not yet revealed their wedding plans, but the notoriously low-key couple will likely keep their nuptials private. This will be the third marriage for Johansson, and the first for Jost. The actress has one child, Rose Dorothy Dauriac, who was born in 2014.
