Look: This New Pair of Loafers Is Inspired by Yorkshire Terriers

Tod's latest collection looks an Italian dream come to life.

This season, Tod’s paid to tribute to the Italian lifestyle by taking the country’s nonchalant attitude and applying it onto the collection through bright colors and elegant silhouettes.

The house’s runway show perfectly encapsulated the mood through the many sport jackets, double-breasted blazers, micro bombers, and biker jackets that appeared. To inject modernity, bottoms were remade in leather. Supple Nappa leather—one of the brand’s famous properties—was used in shorts, skirts, and trousers.

For summer, the Wave was reimagined as a backpack while the Gommino bags were released in candy colors such as baby blue, light brown, pink, and yellow. The boxy bag’s small size and unique rubber pebbles make an adorably striking statement.

Tod's is introducing a new bag for the season: The Sella, a large tote, takes inspiration from the Gommino's waves and uses a number of precious skins as well as details and stitching that are true to the brand’s heritage. The brand also built up its exotic offerings, releasing bags in snakeskin and crocodile. The textures were color blocked in shades of yellow, brown, beige, and ochre.

As for shoes, Tod’s went down an eclectic route to contrast the elegantly subdued collection. The signature Double T loafers were unexpectedly covered in shiny satin, metallic exotics, suede, and stark white leather.

Exaggerated tassels were seen in the Yorkshire Terrier-inspired loafers which were inspired by the long-haired dog breed. The Yorkie loafers are also reminiscent of tribal moccasins albeit a more streamlined iteration. The style appears in dusty yellow, brown, gray, and sand suede.

The Native American theme continued on to the crisscross slides, high-top sneakers, and other loafers that featured cowhide, fringes, cross-stitch elements. One of the highlights includes a T-bar sandal with a beautiful scarf detail.

Tod’s is located at Greenbelt 4 and Rustan’s Shangri-La, Shangri-La Plaza.
