It's easy to forget that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had such a whirlwind romance—but Meghan's Antonio Berardi dress puts their quick timeline into focus.

Meghan was first spotted in the navy garment in May 2017. Though it was only a year and a half ago, she had yet to even make her first public appearance with Prince Harry (that would come a few months later, at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto).

Now, Meghan chose to recycle the dress, but in an entirely different context: as a full-fledged Duchess on royal tour, meeting with New Zealand's Prime Minister.

The garment in question is a high-low 2017 Antonio Berardi dress, featuring double-breasted buttons up the front. For yesterday's occasion (a reception at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, hosted by the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern), the Duchess chose to pair it with her beloved suede Aquazzura heels.

After greeting the Prime Minister outside the Museum, the Duke and Duchess quickly followed her inside. At the event, Prime Minister Arden offered Meghan heaps of praise.

"I think it's wonderful to have a woman in her position to talk so strongly about issues of women's representation and empowerment," she told the crowd. "Particularly in New Zealand, for 125 years women have had the vote but there are still things we need to do around domestic violence and pay equity... having role models from around the world like herself, standing up and making statements around just fairness and equality I think is really powerful."

Arden was likely referencing Meghan's recent speech about feminism, which she delivered just two days ago in Wellington, New Zealand. Though the royal tour may be almost over, we can surely expect more powerful words from Meghan in the months and years to come.
