Audrey Hepburn is an international symbol for timeless style, and it looks like Meghan Markle is following suit(s). From day one in the royal limelight, the Duchess of Sussex has embraced the sleek silhouettes, smart hemlines, and impeccable tailoring made famous by Hubert de Givenchy, Hepburn's longtime collaborator. Here, our favorite Audrey-inspired ensembles worn by the Duchess of Sussex.

Chic LBD's

During her two-day trip to Ireland this July, the Duchess of Sussex wore a court-neck dress by Emilia Wickstead to the British Ambassador's residence in Dublin. The smart LDB isn't a far cry from the one Audrey Hepburn wore promoting her 1954 film, Sabrina.

Belted Button-Downs

Here, Meghan Markle wears a belted Givenchy dress to the Royal Ascot. The swingy skirt and nipped waist bear a striking similarity to the dress Hepburn wore while learning the gavotte in Rome, with both looks sharing an arrowhead collar and button-down detail.

White Berets

Meghan Markle wore a white Stephen Jones beret to the 2018 Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in March, calling to mind the floppy beret Hepburn wore in London's Kew Gardens while performing in Sauce Piquante in May 1950.

Brides to Be

For her royal wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle wore a perfectly minimalist gown designed by Givenchy. The gown closely resembles the dress Audrey Hepburn had planned to wear (and took photos in) by Zoe Fontana before she and ex-fiancée James Hanson decided to call off the wedding. Both dresses were stark white and featured long sleeves, boat necks, and long cathedral veils.

Cream Givenchy

Both Markle and Hepburn are known for wearing Givenchy, and not just for nuptials (completed or otherwise). The Duchess of Sussex added a black belt to this Givenchy bateau neck dress—which she wore on her first engagement without Prince Harry—reflecting a near-mirror image of Hepburn as Regina Lambert in Charade.

Beige Coats

Meghan Markle wore this beige, wool wrap-coat while attending Christmas Day services at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in December 2017. The look takes a style cue from Hepburn's wool peacoat of the same palette, which she wore arriving at JFK in 1968.

Perfect in Plaid

While on a visit to Edinburgh, Scotland in February of this year, the Duchess of Sussex took a page from Hepburn's stylebook when she wore this plaid peacoat by Burberry.

Black Boatnecks

Meghan Markle is the spitting image of Audrey Hepburn in this Dior gown, which she wore to the Royal Air Force's 100th anniversary celebration. Here, Markle and Hepburn are comparable in black fit-and-flare gowns with boatnecks—which are also referred to as "Sabrina" necklines in honor of Hepburn's 1954 film of the same name—and bow details.

Suiting Up

While on a visit to Ireland this month, Meghan Markle wore this Audrey-esque bespoke pantsuit by Givenchy to the Irish Emigration Museum.

In the Trenches

Here, Meghan wears a trench coat by Artizia to the Invictus Games trials at the University of Bath in April of this year, a near-perfect copy of the trench worn by Hepburn in Funny Face.

Blushing

For her first Trooping the Colour ceremony, Meghan Markle wore a blush Carolina Herrera dress with matching Phillip Treacy fascinator. The ensemble is reminiscent of the pale pink Givenchy dress and matching hood Audrey Hepburn wore to her second wedding (to Andrea Dotti).

My Fair Ladies

Did Meghan Markle's Phillip Treacy fascinator from the Royal Ascot look familiar? It's a toned down version of the one Audrey Hepburn wore as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.

Yellow Pencil Dresses

The Duchess of Sussex wore a bright yellow Brandon Maxwell dress to the Your Commonwealth Youth Challenge reception at Marlborough House in early July, a one-off of the yellow pencil dress with matching hat Audrey Hepburn wore for her role in Zusamenn in Paris.
