Following a month-long vacation from official appearances, Meghan Markle is back in the public eye. Tonight, she attends the WellChild Awards alongside her husband Prince Harry, who has been a patron of the organization for years. This evening's honors celebrate young people who are seriously ill and those who make a difference in their lives.

Prince Harry will reportedly hand out the award for Most Inspirational Child aged 4-6, and will make a speech. Harry and Meghan will also meet with the children and their families before the reception.

For her first event with the charity, Meghan chose to wear a black pantsuit by Altuzarra with a black blouse by Deitas. She paired the ensemble with a low bun and black pumps, and is carrying a small clutch by Stella McCartney.

While Meghan has not yet publicly announced her first patronage (we expect to hear that news before the end of the year), she has been supporting Prince Harry in his humanitarian efforts over the past few months.

Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended a performance of Hamilton, which raised money for Sentebale, the organization Prince Harry co-founded in 2006 to help young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana.

During his thank you speech to the crown, Harry even sang a few notes of the musical's score. (Watch that incredible video here.)

And then later this week on Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will attend the 100 Days to Peace gala, an event which marks the centenary of the end of WWI, and raises money for a variety of veterans support organizations.
