Louis Vuitton's Classic Suitcases Get a Tough Titanium Upgrade

It'll cost you nearly P2.4 million.

From an eye-catching Jenga set to a giant volleyball, Louis Vuitton has been releasing all sorts of items that feature the house's Monogram in the past few weeks. Now, the brand's latest product to receive the treatment is something a little closer to its heritage: luggage.

Louis Vuitton is no stranger to creative prints and color combinations. The Keepall, for instance, has been included in practically all the creative collections. In fact, it was one of the few classic items that Virgil Abloh reimagined when he sent his debut collection down the runway (in iridescent PVC, no less).

While the Keepall has gotten far more attention when it comes to new innovations, the Bisten has gotten the short end of the stick. Now, however, it's being introduced in a way that will make it a lot more useful.

The Monogram Titane Bisten uses "incomparably sturdy" titanium laser-engraved with the house's print. What makes Louis Vuitton special is how it innovates while retaining old-world details; this collection is no different. Its metal pieces are upgraded with the use of ruthenium, but its handles and other trimmings still use natural cowhide leather. Inside, there's also a gray microfiber lining and cotton straps, while the brand's unpickable s-lock secures the bags.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Titane Bisten 60

SHOP: louisvuitton.com, $46,500

By no means is Louis Vuitton's use of titanium new. Under Kim Jones' tenure, we saw the material done in exceptional objects such as a watch box, Champagne case, and a rolling case. But it's the first time it's being used for the Bisten. Given the price tag and the brand's knack for limited-edition pieces, we're sure this won't be available for long.

The titanium Bisten is available in three sizes: the 50, 55, and 60. Each go for $41,000, $43,500, and $46,500, respectively.
