Lilly Pulitzer Celebrates the Life of 9-Year-Old Brain Tumor Patient
This month, Lilly Pulitzer is honoring Caroline "Peach" Kanis—a nine-year-old from Holland, Michigan who recently passed away from a rare, inoperable tumor on her brain stem—with a beautiful, custom print.
When the designers in Lilly's print studio heard Caroline's story and her love for the brand's vibrant fabrics, they created a memorial pattern in honor of her life, complete with her signature peaches.
"For a Lilly Girl who touched our hearts. Today we’re celebrating the life of Caroline Kanis, nicknamed “Peach” by her loved ones because of her sweetness," wrote the brand on its Facebook and Instagram pages.
Several of Caroline's loved ones chimed in, sharing photos and memories of Peach in the comments.
"Your dresses were scattered thru the church this morning, it was a beautiful sight during a sad time," wrote one commenter.
"You couldn't have made a tribute to a sweeter person!" said another.
This isn't the first time Lilly has honored a fan's passing with a custom print. In August of last year, they created a floral design in remembrance of Raven Little-White, who tragically passed away at just 16.
