How This Stylish Entrepreneur Made Retail Therapy Her Business
Between running her household and retail business, with a glamorous social calendar to boot, Mia Ynares is a style manual personified.
Single mom of two, owner of Retail Therapy online store, and personal shopper.
Taking my kids to school and making sure I attend to all their activities, yoga, golf, dining out with friends, going to the beach, and travel, travel, travel!
Earliest Fashion Memory
Dressing up in head to toe Esprit at age 11.
For casual clothes, I love Sandro, Rag & Bone, L’Agence, and Sacai. For formal pieces, I turn to Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Giambattista Valli, and Valentino. For costume
Locally I go to Univers and Homme et Femme. Anthropologie, Joyce, and Barneys when I’m abroad. I love discovering small boutiques and quaint shops when I travel. I love walking in Saint Germain, Soho in NYC, or
Vintage Chanel necklace and Roger Vivier clutch signed by Inès de La Fressange.
Less is more. Choose pieces that you won’t regret wearing 10 years
That would be my two years of studying fashion merchandising in FIDM and all the Fashion Week shows that I attended in New York, Paris, and Milan.
I admire Princess Grace for her elegance without trying too hard. Jackie Onassis for making capris and nautical shirts look so chic. Inès de La Fressange for making messy hair look so sleek. I draw inspiration from everything that surrounds me and seeing what works for my body and lifestyle.
A watch and my diamond earrings. I feel naked without them. I wear them even in the gym.
First Big Splurge
A Cartier Santos from my own savings.
Nicholas Kirkwood platform heels.
What She Treasures Most
My children, family, friends, and my experiences. Having been invited to have dinner with Carolina Herrera in New York, sharing a ride with the creative director of YSL to attend the fashion show in Paris, getting a private tour of Coco Chanel’s home, and sitting behind Karl Lagerfeld at a Chanel fashion show, to name a few.
I Can’t Live Without…
Andie, Alex, and of course, my concealer!
Current Fashion Wish List
I don’t have a wish because I just make things happen. Life is short!
