Six years ago this week, Pippa Middleton wore the form-fitting bridesmaid dress that launched 1,000 glute exercises. Now, Kate’s little sister is getting married, and rumors are swirling over which designer will dress her on her big day.
In November, Giles Deacon was spotted leaving Middleton’s apartment with a large black dress bag in hand, prompting speculation that he would design her gown, but he refused to confirm or deny the gossip.
"I can never really comment on rumors," he told Hello! Fashion in February. "Until things are confirmed, it's just rumors."
Royal favorites Jenny Packham and Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, who designed the Duchess of Cambridge’s lace wedding gown are also top contenders for the gig, but British Say Yes to the Dress star and Princess Diana's wedding dress designer David Emanuel thinks Pippa should opt for something a little different than her royal sibling.
"In total contrast to her sister, I would style Pippa in a completely different silhouette," he told Town & Country earlier this year. "An Empire-line gown, a low scooped neck bodice and long slim sleeves in ivory lace, with soft layer upon layer of silk georgette skimming the body, and flowing into a soft train. A tiny diamond tiara and full cathedral veil would soften and finish the look. Not a royal look, but English and romantic."
Keeping that in mind, here’s what we’d like to see Pippa wear to walk down the aisle.
