There’s always room for improvement.

Three decades after its first formulation, Clarins’ iconic Double Serum has undergone a major upgrade in its formulation. Now in its eighth generation, the serum promises even more youthful skin through its latest developments and an all-new ingredient.

To better understand the new Double Serum, we answer some frequently asked questions:

What is it?
It’s a two-in-one serumarguably the brand’s bestthat combines all the best components of water-soluble and oil-soluble ingredients.

What does it do?
Overall, it smoothens the skin, brings back the skin’s radiance, firms, and evens skin tone. The serum promises results in seven days, according to a satisfaction test involving 362 women.

How does it work?
For years, the Double Serum has been the go-to product for women trying to reverse the skin's aging process. The serum’s compound ingredients work overtime to target the signs of aging and help stimulate the skin’s vital functions: regeneration, oxygenation, nutrition, hydration, and protection. Researchers believe the secret to youthful skin is to ensure the cell’s functions, listed above, run smoothly.

On a more scientific scale, the researchers at the skincare brand have discovered there’s a cellular “listening system” (lipid microdomains) that make it possible for cells to “hear” messages from their environment. This is what the brand calls the language of the skin.

What’s it made of?
The latest addition to the serum’s formulation is turmeric extract, which health nuts have been praising in the past year. Throughout the years, turmeric has been used for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

The use of turmeric was inspired by the exceptional “communication” characteristics of tumerone, which the extract is concentrated from. This star ingredient is believed to preserve the cells' “listening” ability, enhance cellular communication, and optimize the cell’s five vital functions.

Apart from this new ingredient, the serum also consists of extracts from 18 high-performing plants, each with a role in the serum’s ultimate goal, and two plant-based ingredients. A few featured ingredients include kiwi, oat, and organic teasel.

Who should use it?
The Double Serum works for all skin types, including very sensitive skin. It’s also best for women with fine lines, wrinkles, and a dull complexion.

How do you use it?
The serum comes in a double vial bottle which houses the oil-based component of the serum inside the hydric based one.

The customizable bottle has two options which vary according to the season and to the skin type. Women can either use a tiny drop in the summer, when the climate is warm and the skin is usually oily. For drier and colder temperatures, women with normal, dry, or sensitive skin may indulge in a power shot.

Where can you get it?
Clarins is exclusively available at Rustan’s Department stores nationwide.
