“I am a B.S. Mathematics graduate from the University of the Philippines, and I used to work at 3M, training people using Six Sigma, a process improvement methodology using statistical tools. I resigned in to become a hands-on mom.Today I am a wife and a mother to two girls, which does not mean I am just relaxing at home. I am usually running about doing errands, attending to PTA officer duties at my kids’ school, taking my daughters to their ballet rehearsals, preparing for Bible studies, and counseling friends and other women in church who need guidance.

True beauty is having a gentle and quiet spirit.

When I was in school and in the corporate world, I was fixated on success and recognition. I was very strict with myself and with other people, always in a rush to get things done, and get them done excellently. I’d get very frustrated when people couldn’t keep up. Being a stay-at-home mom has taught me to be more patient, to be kinder, and to be more thankful. It has taught me to see what the truly more important things in life are, such as God, family, and friends.

What inspires me are women who walk closely with the Lord, who take care of their families but still make time to help others. My favorite beauty quote is from Peter 3:3-4: ‘Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.’ I am not always successful in applying this in my life. In fact, I fail often. But I do strive for this. True beauty is having a gentle and quiet spirit.”
