Beauty Boss Spills Her Top Tips, From Colors to Anti-Aging

For Nikki Tang, a beauty industry executive, surrounding herself with all things positive makes her feel her most beautiful.

Where has your passion for beauty taken you?

Beauty, when understood in the right way, can be an empowering tool. When I take time to look my best, I feel strongest and most confident. This passion has made me feel that I know what I want and how to get it. When fostering this, it allows me to exude confidence and preparedness without even trying. There are days when we do not feel pretty, but when we strive to surround ourselves with positivity and we take care of ourselves in every way possible, this propels us to influence others to do the same.

What other dreams are you in the process of fulfilling?

As a parent, I want to see my two sons grow up to be fine young men. I want to lead and inspire them to do the things they love and be successful so that one day, they can make a difference in this world. As an entrepreneur, I want to expand my dermo-cosmetic business not only to be a leading provider of beauty and anti-aging solutions in the Philippines but to make it more meaningful by bringing it to the next level—enriching the lives of more Filipinos through social entrepreneur projects. I am also currently in the process of building my business platform in the digital space.

What other things keep you busy?

Apart from bonding with my family and friends, I love spending time outdoors, reading, going to dancing classes, watching good films, attending to three personal advocacies that I support—charity, environment, and education.

What makes you happy?

When I see my sons successfully achieve their goals in school, when I know I am able to contribute positivity to my employees’ lives, when I encounter goodness and love, good music with good company, and most of all, when I am able to make others happy, despite my own situations.

Best beauty advice you’ve ever received?

My mom and grandmother have shown me that confidence, good posture, wearing proper and decent clothes make a woman of real beauty. I shall never forget they also told me to make sure to always smell good.

Beauty icon?

Cate Blanchett. She is a happily married wife, a loving sister to her brother who has a form of cerebral palsy, a dedicated mother, and a successful career person in her chosen path as an actress and an artistic director. Simply put, she is a real woman who goes through life and lives a meaningful one by making the most out of it.

Any tips you want to share?

First, remember that happy girls are the prettiest girls. Second, be a girl with a mind, a woman with attitude, and a lady with class.

How would you personally define beauty?

True beauty has nothing to do with looks. It’s how you are as a person and how you make others feel about themselves. A great attitude becomes a great mood, which becomes a great day, which becomes a great year, which becomes a great life.
