Shake Shack Manila Is Standing for Something Good

There's plenty of information to digest with Shake Shack's impending opening. From the menu and the prices of the burgers to what the first branch in Manila looks like, we've dissected just about every aspect of Stores Specialists Inc.'s newest, and no doubt, most awaited project.
Aside from the Manila-exclusive menu, not much differs from the Shake Shack branch in New York—even its philosophy. Through the Stand For Something Good campaign, Shake Shack prides itself on sourcing incredible ingredients. The words vegetarian fed, humanely raised, source verified, cage-free, and all-natural are just some of what comes into mind.
“We’re thrilled to bring the NYC Shake Shack experience to the Filipino community, and are proud of the company’s mission to Stand for Something Good; our burgers and hot dogs use 100 percent all-natural beef, free of hormones and antibiotics, non-GMO potato buns, and custard is made from real sugar, no corn syrup, and milk from dairy farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones,” says Anton Huang, SSI Group President.
He continues, “We’re proud to finally unveil our Manila menu that was created with high standards of excellence: thoughtful ingredient sourcing and preparation, hospitality and quality that will provide a value that is accessible for our Filipino customers.”
The New York-based restaurant chain is also no stranger to giving back. In America, Shake Shack counts the American Museum of Natural History, Ascencia, Austin Humane Society, Base Camp Children's Cancer Foundation, and others as charity partners.
In keeping with the Stand for Something Good spirit, Shake Shack Manila has pledged five percent of sales from the Calamansi Pie Oh My to Children's Hour. The organization, which benefits Filipino children in need, gives support in areas such as education, health and nutrition, and welfare and development.

Another local partner is Hope in a Bottle which will be the source of Shack2O's bottled water. All the profits from the partnership will go to building public school classrooms.
