Breast Cancer Survivors and Supporters Raise Awareness in a Most Fabulous Way
The Philippines has the highest incidence of breast cancer in Southeast Asia and is among the top ten in the world.
To battle those numbers, the ICanServe Foundation continues to fight the good fight, providing early detection and support to those inflicted by it. The foundation recently pooled together another impressive roster of fashion designers at the annual Fashion Can Serve fundraising fashion show. This year’s campaign, called #WhyWeFight, reiterated the message of hope and support not only for cancer patients but for the people they love as well.
In time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, designers JC Buendia, Ito Curata, Cary Santiago, Vania Romoff, Mia Arcenas Branellec, and Rosenthal Tee showcased their latest sumptuous ensembles.
ICanServe Foundation president Tang Singson expounded on this year’s campaign, saying, “Our theme emphasizes the reason why those diagnosed with breast cancer choose to fight: They do this for their spouses, children, and grandchildren.” Among the many muses was Maureen
Both survivors and advocates rallied together and graced the catwalk. Margie Moran-Floirendo walked with her granddaughter Cosima in keeping with the theme. Two other Miss Universe titleholders Gloria Diaz and Pia Wurztbach walked the runway as well. Libet Virata, Sabrina Panlilio, Tootsy Angara, WynnWynn Ong, Sandy Moran, Mitzi Borromeo, Derek Ramsay, and ICanServe co-founder Crisann Celdran were among those who donned the stunning creations by the six designers.
