Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren't the only ones receiving gifts in honor of their wedding day. People reports that Markle's father, Thomas Markle will likely receive a coat of arms on behalf of his family sometime before the May 19 nuptials.

Kensington Palace and the College of Arms, the organization which creates coats of arms, have yet to acknowledge the matter, but it's safe to assume that the Markles will be included in this royal tradition.

The crest crafted specifically for the Middleton family.

Back in 2011, Kate Middleton's father, Michael Middleton, received a coat of arms on just a week before his daughter's wedding to Prince William. As is tradition, the Middleton crest includes colors and symbols specific to the family. For example, it features three acorns, one for each of the Middleton children. Additionally, oaks are native to the area near the Middleton home in Berkshire, and Harper's Bazaar reports the tree symbolizes both strength and the country of England. The use of gold in the Middleton coat of arms is said to gesture towards Kate's mother, Carole, whose maiden name is Goldsmith, while red and blue reportedly designate the U.K. flag.

Two years after their wedding, Kate and William received their own "conjugal coat of arms," to represent the couple's combined house.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's conjugal coat of arms.

Harry and Meghan's eventual conjugal coat of arms will likely follow a similar layout to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's. Two shields represent the separate houses of husband and wife on William and Kate's crest, and we can expect the same for Harry and Meghan's. Three red escallop shells are placed strategically in William and Kate's conjugal coat of arms in a nod to Princess Diana's family crest. Perhaps an allusion to Diana will appear on Harry's conjugal coat of arms as well.

Should the tradition continue (and we have no reason to believe it won't), Thomas Markle, will receive the coat of arms on behalf of his family shortly before the wedding. We're keeping our eyes peeled until then.
