The king of Saudi Arabia is a rich man. With an estimated net worth of $1.4 trillion, his family has enough money to buy just about whatever they want.

One of the perks of the position is a gold escalator that crews roll up to his gold jumbo jet so that the 81-year-old doesn't need to bother with stairs when disembarking (Are you taking notes, President Trump?).

But sometimes things don't go according to plan. Like on Tuesday, when the escalator got stuck after the king touched down in Moscow.

After standing on the broken stairway for a seemingly interminable 27 seconds, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud grabbed hold of the handrail and walked the rest of the way down, proving that sometimes royals really are just like the rest of us.
