Research company Times Higher Education has dropped some Western schools on the prestige THE World University Rankings 2020 this year and has instead, welcomed a few more universities from the east. While the top 10 remains to be dominated by schools from the United States and the U.K., our own University of the Philippines has made it to the list, taking a spot in the 401-500 group in a total of 1,396 schools.
Completing the top 10 are the University of Oxford, California Institute of Technology, University of Cambridge, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Harvard University, Yale University, University of Chicago, and Imperial College London.
Meanwhile, American universities have overtaken their U.K. counterparts and now have a total of 60 entries on the ranking, while the U.K. falls short with 28, followed by Germany with 23. China, South Korea, and Hong Kong are among the territories with the most universities on the list.
