Mel C Says She Hasn't Been Invited to the Royal Wedding

Now we're all confused.

Just a week after Mel B. (a.k.a. Scary Spice) gave the Internet a collective heart attack by announcing that all five Spice Girls would be attending at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, Mel C. (a.k.a. Sporty Spice) is saying the reunion is a no-go.

"Oh yes, there's been quite a lot of press interest there, my invite hasn't turned up yet," she said at the Prince's Trust Awards on Tuesday, according to E! News. "It was all that snow. I think the mail's been a bit held up in the snow."

"I think [Mel B] was joking," Mel C. continued. "I think the media ran with it a little bit."

During an appearance on the daytime talk show The Real in February, Mel B. a.k.a. Scary Spice said that not only will all five Spice Girls be in attendance at the Royal Wedding come May, but she also hinted that they would be performing at the reception.

"I don't know if I should have said that," she lamented, after revealing that not only was she invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's nuptials, but that she'll also be reuniting with her bandmates at the event.

"Why am I so honest?" she said.

In the clip below, Mel B. also hesitated to describe the invitation saying only "It was proper, yes...I've said enough."

The popular singing group has certainly seen its share of rumors (though they aren't often started by members of the band). It had been previously rumored that the Spice Girls, who went on indefinite hiatus in 2000, would go on a reunion tour this year, but Victoria Beckham a.k.a. Posh Spice shut down the speculation during fashion week.
