Queen Elizabeth canceled an appearance on Thursday morning because she was feeling "under the weather." The monarch was scheduled to attend at a church service at St. Paul's Cathedral in London to mark the 200th anniversary of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George.

"The Queen is feeling under the weather today and has decided not to attend this morning's service at St Paul's Cathedral marking the 200th anniversary of the Order of St Michael and St George," Buckingham Palace said in a statement, according to People. "Her Majesty will be represented by The Duke of Kent as Grand Master of the Order."

The Royal Family shared a photo on Twitter of the Duke of Kent at the church service in the Queen's place:

The Queen has had a busy schedule in recent weeks. Two days ago, she attended the Queen's Young Leader Awards in London with Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. The Queen handed out an award to each honoree, all of whom are making an impact in their communities throughout the Commonwealth. Last week, the Queen made multiple appearances at Royal Ascot, which is reportedly her favorite week of the year.

Royal reporter Rebecca English said the Queen's illness and sudden absence should not cause alarm. English revealed on Twitter the Queen did not require the care of a doctor, and that the monarch is still scheduled to travel to Windsor later today.

The Duke of Kent is the Grand Master of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George, making him a fitting replacement for the Queen. Angelina Jolie was also in attendance at the service, wearing a pale gray Ralph & Russo dress and hat. Jolie has a special connection to the order celebrated in today's service. In 2014, Queen Elizabeth made the actress, producer, and activist an honorary dame of the order for her work combating war-zone sexual violence, the Telegraph reports.
