Even blue-blooded kids are, at the end of the day, kids.

That's what Monaco's Prince Jacques reminded us earlier this week, during the Monaco National Day celebrations in Monte Carlo. Jaques was standing on a balcony of the royal palace, waving to the crowd with his mother, Princess Charlene, his father Prince Albert II, and his twin sister Princess Gabriella. The two royal youngsters were playing with some toys on the banister when things went a little awry.

It was almost the end of the event (3 hours and 8 minutes into the livestream, to be exact) when Jacques dropped his action figure off the balcony. He and his sister quickly panicked, leaning over to see where it had fallen before the entire royal family resigned themselves to a mild chagrin.

Although he may no longer have that toy, Jacques likely still has the Spiderman figure he recently brought along for a visit with French First Lady Brigitte Macron. Princess Charlene shared images of the event on Instagram—and in two of them, Jacques is clutching his precious Spiderman.

Of course, if he dropped a toy at Elysee Palace, it wouldn't be difficult to recover. Amongst the hubbub of the National Day of Monaco (also known as the Sovereign Prince's Day), it was a bit more of an issue.

The holiday is celebrated on the day that Prince Albert took the throne. (Traditionally, each subsequent Prince chose the day of the saint they were named after, but Albert broke with tradition, choosing the same day as his father, Prince Rainier III.) The Monaco people celebrate with a military parade and fireworks—and sometimes, by dropping their toys.
