The Hidden Meaning Behind Why Prince Harry Always Wears the Same Bracelet

Another example of how much he loved his mom, Princess Diana.

Have you ever noticed Prince Harry's bracelet before?

Yes, and I've always wondered if there was a story behind it.

No, not until this article pointed it out!

Whenever Meghan Markle and Prince Harry step out, a lot of the attention immediately goes to what shoes, outfit, and accessories the Duchess of Sussex is wearing. But what many have missed while ogling her incredible wardrobe is that the prince has long been making a statement of his own with his jewelry — particularly, with his bracelets.

During their latest appearance at a performance of Hamilton in London, Meghan opted for an incredible tuxedo dress, while Prince Harry looked sharp as ever in a matching suit and tie. But one shot in particular of the Duke shaking hands with the cast shows him wearing two bangles.

Though the prince is often alternating between various beaded bracelets, one in particular seems to always be around his wrist no matter what: the dark brown, silver cuff with a line of gray pill-shaped ovals on it.

According to Business Insider, Prince Harry was first seen wearing the piece in 2001. More recently, photographs indicate that the Duke also donned it for his engagement announcement and wedding day. It is reported by the outlet, though not confirmed, that he likely got the band (and possibly more) while on a trip to Africa immediately following the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

As he revealed in a previous Town & Country story, Harry along with Prince Charles and Prince William, left for the continent in 1997 to escape the noise and "get away from it all." Harry went on to explain that this trip to Africa, and many that followed, helped him realize that this is where he feels more like himself "than anywhere in the world."

"I have this intense sense of complete relaxation and normality here," the prince told the outlet. "To not get recognized, to lose myself in the bush with what I would call the most down-to-earth people on the planet."

Diana also carried out so much charity work on the continent, undoubtedly adding another sentimental connection.

Marie Claire Australia notes that Prince William also has a similar-looking bangle and wore it several times after the Princess of Wales's passing.

Over the years, Harry appears to have collected several more colorful beaded bracelets and almost always chooses them over a watch. What's more, after he took Meghan to Botswana in the summer of 2016, the former Suits actress was photographed wearing identical beaded bands. Like Diana, Meghan also has special ties to the continent, having served as a global ambassador for World Vision in Rwanda.

When Harry proposed to Meghan, he included a diamond from Botswana and two from Princess Diana's personal collection, the Mirror reports. Now, like Harry's bracelet, the Duchess of Sussex will forever have an heirloom to connect her back to the place Harry so deeply loves and, furthermore, the legacy of Diana.
