Prince Harry Just Said the Sweetest Thing About Meghan Markle

Harry and Meghan's royal wedding is just a few weeks away.

Prince Harry honored fiancée Meghan Markle during his first speech as The Queen's Commonwealth Youth Ambassador in London today.

The 33-year-old royal marked his newly appointed role by Her Majesty at a Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting during the opening session of the Youth Forum. Addressing the attendees, he announced: "In my new role I will work to support The Queen, my father The Prince of Wales, and my brother William, all of whom know that young people are the answer to the challenges of today."

"I am also incredibly grateful that the woman I am about to marry, Meghan, will be joining me in this work, of which she too is hugely excited to take part in." (via Daily Mail's royal correspondent Rebecca English).

Markle intends to continue her work as a humanitarian and staunch advocate of women's rights after she and Harry on May 19 at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The 36-year-old former actress recently revealed that she has also been having secret behind-the-scenes meetings with various charities to learn as much as she can so "I can maximize the opportunity we have here to really make an impact."

Markle spoke about this during the inaugural Royal Foundation Forum back in February. It's believed she may pick one charity to work with after the royal wedding.

The couple also recently asked for charity donations in place of wedding gifts, with Kensington Palace announcing: "The couple have chosen charities [that] represent a range of issues they are passionate about, including sport for social change, women's empowerment, conservation, the environment, homelessness, HIV and the armed forces."

"Many of these are small charities, and the couple are pleased to be able to amplify and shine a light on their work."

Meanwhile, it was announced this morning that Harry would serve as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador, in which he will highlight and support the work and aspirations of young people across the Commonwealth.

Harry's new role will work to create links between young people and youth leaders of the Commonwealth and to encourage them to use Commonwealth platforms to address the social, economic, and environmental challenges of their generation.

He was attending the Youth Round Table and opening session of the Youth Forum as part of his first engagement as Ambassador. The Youth Forum is one of a series of Forums that form part of the program for the week-long Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Last week, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Harry would be taking on a new role as president of The Queen's Commonwealth Trust, a new youth charity which will provide a platform for young change-makers across the Commonwealth in areas such as education, sport, health and the environment.

Looks like it's going to be a busy year for the royal!
