Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Watched 'Hamilton' on Date Night
The recent London debut of Hamilton was met with critical acclaim. Since then, a number of famous personalities have flocked to see the Lin Manuel-Miranda production. The list includes Keira Knightley, Emma Stone, Maisie Williams and, more recently, Prince Harry and fiancée Meghan Markle.
On February 16, the royal couple made their way to the Victoria Palace Theatre for the Tony Award-winning musical. Interestingly, Hamilton’s main antagonist is Prince Harry’s ancestor King George III. The casting for the West End production includes Filipina stage actors Rachelle Ann Go and Christine Allado, who, with Rachel John, play the three Schuyler sisters.
The attendance was confirmed by cast member Leslie Garcia Bowman who tweeted: “Was an

The royals watched Hamilton in the same week as their visit to Edinburgh Castle, when Markle surprised a Filipino couple by speaking in Tagalog. Since the two were attending royal engagements left and right during Valentine’s, it’s supposed that the musical was part of the couple’s romantic date night.
Since announcing their engagement, Markle immediately jumped into her duties as a soon-to-be royal. The past couple of months have been mostly official visits and engagements for the two—save for a holiday vacation in Nice.
Prince Harry and Markle are big fans of theater. The two were seen attending The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time in December 2016, back when their relationship was still under wraps. Markle had previously caught the Broadway production of Hamilton in New York on a “date night” with best friend Priyanka Chopra, an occasion she marked on her now-deleted Instagram account. She wrote, “About last night. Thank you to my babe @priyankachopra for the best date night #Hamilton #NYC”
