  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry privately attended a performance of Tina: The Musical this weekend.
  • The musical's lead actress, Adrienne Warren, was extremely excited about the royal visit.

This weekend, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took some time away from the spotlight for a date night. For their rare private outing, the royal couple attended a performance of Tina: The Musical, a production inspired by the life and music of Tina Turner.

An actress in the musical, Adrienne Warren, took to Twitter to share her excitement. "They said they’d come and they did!" she wrote. "Thank you to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It was an honor to have the opportunity to perform for you again!"

Warren had previously performed for Harry and Meghan at the Royal Variety Show, according to several posts on her Instagram account. "I had the honor of representing our show, with a performance on the Royal Variety Show!" she captioned one photo back in November. By "our show," she likely meant Tina: The Musical, as she was starring in it then as well.

In another post, Warren shared a photo of herself speaking with the Duchess that night. Perhaps this was when the royal couple promised that they'd see the show, as Warren mentioned they'd done her tweet this weekend.

Of course, it isn't hard to convince Meghan to go to the theater. As a former actress, she clearly has an appreciation for the craft. And one of her very first patronages, London's National Theatre, is dedicated to such work.
