We've seen the adorable moments between Prince Harry and children over the years and we have no doubts he will make a wonderful father. We may even get to see him in action sooner rather than later.

After announcing their engagement in Princess Diana's Memorial Garden at Kensington Palace, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sat down for a televised interview.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were all smiles for their first candid interview with The Guardian.

The couple sat together closely and spoke candidly about managing their relationship with their busy travel schedules and their shared passion for humanitarian causes. When the interviewer asked, "Children?" Harry responded good-naturedly with a chuckle and a little stammer: "Not currently no," and then added, "one step at a time and hopefully we'll start a family in the near future."

The couple is comfortable with children. Harry especially has a history of being adorable with them.

The couple's ease with the question suggests that while they have only just become engaged, thoughts of beginning a family together are not far off. Meghan mentioned meeting many of royal family members and emphasized how important it was for her to feel connected to Princess Diana.

We know we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves—the couple should take their time and enjoy this moment, not to mention plan the spectacle of a royal wedding. But you can't blame us for getting just a little excited about the prospect of cousins for George, Charlotte, and Baby Cambridge-to-be.
