Back in November, shortly following the announcement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement, Kensington Palace shared the news that the royal couple was looking into how the public could be a part of their marriage ceremony.

"The couple, of course, want the day to be a special, celebratory moment for their friends and family," read a statement. "They also want the day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too and are currently working through ideas for how this might be achieved."

At the time, many assumed that was a hint that the ceremony would be televised, but we now know it also means that members of the public will be invited to Windsor on the day of the royal wedding.

In total, 2,640 people have been invited to watch the arrivals of the bride and groom and other wedding guests to Windsor castle, and to see the newlyweds depart on their carriage ride around the town.

According to the Palace, that group includes 1,200 people from around the U.K., which will be nominated by regional Lord Lieutenant offices. For this group, "the couple has asked that the people chosen are from a broad range of backgrounds and ages, including young people who have shown strong leadership, and those who have served their communities," according to a statement.

Additionally, 200 people from charities Prince Harry and Markle are working with will be invited as well as 100 local Windsor school children, 610 Windsor Castle community members, and 530 members of the Royal Households and Crown Estate.

Should you not be one of the lucky few on this list, you can still catch a glimpse of Meghan and Harry on their special day. They'll take a carriage ride through the town of Windsor immediately following the ceremony. More on that route here.
