Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Engagement Photos Are Here-And They're Gorgeous
Prince Harry and Suits actress Meghan Markle announced their highly anticipated engagement today in Princess Diana's Memorial Garden, a poignant homage to Harry's mother on this joyful occasion.
The announcement was held in the Sunken Gardens, Princess Diana's favorite at the palace.
The gardens were dedicated to her this past summer, and Meghan remarked in an interview with Sky News following the engagement that it was important for her to feel that Diana "is a part of this with us."
Markle's parents wished them "a lifetime of happiness."
The proposal happened in London earlier this month and the wedding is set for Spring 2018.
Harry designed the ring himself.
It includes diamonds from Princess Diana's brooch.
Meghan's royal title could be "Her Royal Highness Duchess of Sussex."
Meghan wore a home-brand coat and designer shoes.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased for the new couple.
They said of the engagement: "We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together."
The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
Harry stated that they are both "thrilled" and Meghan teased that the proposal was romantic.
This is only the couple's second official appearance together, counting The Invictus Games a couple of months ago.
At the royal photocall, Harry said he knew Meghan was the one "the very first time we met."
