Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Officially Engaged-Here's What We Know About the Wedding

Kensington Palace just announced the exact wedding date!

After days of speculation, Clarence House has finally made the announcement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement. The two reportedly became engaged in London earlier this month. The wedding will take place in St. George's Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.

The weekend before the annoucement was a tense one as media outlets were abuzz with speculation of an impending announcement from Buckingham Palace. A royal source has told the Daily Star that an emergency meeting was held in the royal household. 

The announcement of their engagement follows reports that Markle has reportedly left  the television show that brought her fame. She was also spotted house hunting in London earlier this month. They have been dating for about a year now.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle.

The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.

His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents.

The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.

Kensington Palace has also announced that the couple will appear for a photo call later today.

Both Markle's parents and members of the royal family have expressed their happiness over the union.


Town crier Tony Appleton was seen extending the news of the engagement minutes after it was announced.

Scenes from outside Buckingham Palace show tourists and royal fans alike gathered awaiting further announcement from the palace.
