Prince Charles Marks His 70th Birthday with a Series of New Portraits of the Royal Family

Clarence House just released the new photos in honor of the Prince of Wales's milestone celebration.

Prince Charles has been celebrating his 70th birthday for months now, but the official day is finally upon us. In honor of the milestone birthday, a number of family portraits, taken by Getty royal photographer Chris Jackson in the Clarence House gardens, have been released. See the new photos below:

“I was delighted to have been asked to take these portraits of The Prince of Wales surrounded by his family," photographer Chris Jackson said of the portraits.

"It was particularly special to capture such an informal and relaxed family portrait over a fun afternoon in the gardens of Clarence House.”

In addition to the more formal picture, the royals also posed candidly for this shot, which shows the softer side of the royal family.
