Just about a month after Pippa Middleton gave birth to a baby boy in the Lindo Wing, the child's name has reportedly been made public. Over the weekend, the Mail on Sunday reported that Pippa and her husband James Matthews have named their son Arthur Michael William Matthews, citing his birth certificate.

But what's in a name? Here's the rich meaning behind each of the baby's monikers:

ARTHUR

Rich with British history, Arthur nods to the 6th-century king, and his roundtable of knights, and means "bear," according to Nameberry.com. Pippa's child will share "Arthur" with his cousin Prince Louis, who uses it as a middle name.

MICHAEL

The child's middle name Michael means "who is like God?" and pays tribute to a number of family members. Pippa's father's name is Michael, but the name Michael also honors James's brother Michael Matthews, who passed away in 1999 at the age of 22 while climbing Mount Everest.

WILLIAM

William, too, is a very popular British name meaning "strong-willed warrior." It could also be a nod to Pippa's brother-in-law and the child's uncle, Prince William. Both William and Kate were so pleased by the news of Pippa's baby. Shortly after the birth announcement, Kensington Palace put out a short statement from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge saying that the couple “are thrilled for Pippa and James.”

WILL HE HAVE A TITLE?

While Pippa's child will be the first cousin of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, he will not have a royal title.
