Who Will Serve as Bridesmaids in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Wedding?

Princess Charlotte is pretty much as shoe-in for bridal attendant in the wedding of the year.

While the idea of Serena Williams serving as one of Meghan Markle's bridesmaids is certainly intriguing, don't hold your breath. Unlike in the U.S. or the Philippines, where bridesmaids represent the bride's closest friends, attendants in British royal weddings tend to be children.

"If you look at the royal weddings since [Queen] Elizabeth's, you will find that most of the bridesmaids are early teens or children," royals expert Marlene Koenig told T&C back in December.

With that in mind, here's who we predict will help Markle down the aisle.

PRINCESS CHARLOTTE

Last December, just a few days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement, The Sunday Times confirmed that Princess Charlotte and her brother Prince George would have roles in the royal wedding. "The wedding will be a family event. You can expect the family to be involved," a spokesman said. Kensington Palace has yet to reveal what part the young princess will play, but we'd be willing to bet we see her as a bridesmaid come May 19.

MIA TINDALL AND ISLA AND SAVANNAH PHILLIPS

In addition to Princess Charlotte, three prime contenders to help Meghan Markle walk down the aisle are the children of Prince Harry's cousins: Mia Tindall (3), Isla Phillips (5), and Savannah Phillips (7). There's a long history of royal children participating in family weddings, and we don't expect Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to break away from that tradition with their nuptials.

IVY MULRONEY

On the bride's side, Ivy Mulroney, the four-year-old daughter of Markle's good friend Jessica Mulroney, could serve as a wedding attendant. When Markle was still living in Canada, she and Prince Harry reportedly attended discreet dinner parties at the Mulroney's.

"When Harry first started going to Toronto to visit Meghan, it was Ben and Jessica who had them over at their house for dinners because it wasn't easy for them to go out in public without the risk of getting spotted," an anonymous source (so take it with a grain of salt) told E! News.

"Harry's become close with their children Brian, John, and Ivy. Ivy especially is a big fan."

BENITA LITT'S DAUGHTERS

Of all the little girls on this list, we know the least about Benita Litt's daughters. Litt has been friends with Markle for years, and according to her now-deleted Instagram account, Markle spent Christmas with the Litt family in 2016, calling her friend's two young children her "fairy god-daughters."
