Watch Meghan Markle Sing God Save the Queen for the First Time in Public

Following the announcement of Meghan Markle's engagement to Prince Harry, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace confirmed that she intends to become a citizen of the United Kingdom. And today, we saw a striking display of British patriotism from the soon-to-be-royal.

While in attendance at the Commonwealth Day service, Markle was caught on-camera singing the national anthem of the United Kingdom, "God Save the Queen." Watch a clip of her singing below:

Markle's attendance at today's service is symbolic of how warmly she's been welcomed into Harry's family. In recent months, she's taken many steps toward becoming a royal. Just last week, she was reportedly baptized in a private ceremony into the Church of England, and she will be confirmed as well before her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry. Additionally, she is already taking her future role as a working royal seriously, and says she plans to "hit the ground running" highlighting issues regarding women's empowerment.
