Meghan Markle Is the Most Googled Actor of 2017
Meghan Markle has gone from the cast of Suits to a future member of the royal family, thanks to her engagement to Prince Harry. Her incredible year has led her to the top of an annual year-end list: the most Googled actors of 2017.
Google just released its annual ranking of the top-searched stars of the year, and Markle hit the top of the list, no doubt because many people wanted to know more about her before the big royal wedding in May.
The rest of the list may not be marrying royals, but they were big names in the news this year. Gal Gadot played Wonder Woman in one of the most successful movies of the year, and Millie Bobby Brown returned as Eleven in Stranger Things, Netflix’s massive hit show.
Bill Skarsgård freaked everyone out as Pennywise in IT, while Tom Holland entertained them as Spider-Man. Tommy Wiseau didn’t star in a big movie this year, but James Franco played him in The Disaster Artist, a movie that retells the making of the so-bad-it’s-hilarious movie The Room. And Meryl Streep went viral for her Golden Globes speech that was a powerful statement against President Trump.
Unfortunately, not all of the actors made the list for positive reasons. Two of the top-searched actors, Kevin Spacey and Louis C.K., likely made the list because of allegations of sexual harassment or assault. And Maia Campbell made the news over the summer after a video surfaced that appeared to show the In the House star, who has had issues with mental health in the past, asking for drugs.
LL Cool J, who starred with her on the show, went on social media to call out the person who filmed the video instead of helping her, and put out a call for her contact information so he could reach out.
HERE’S THE TOP 10 LIST OF MOST-SEARCHED ACTORS:
