It's Commonwealth Day, and the royal family is set to be out in full force. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were first to get in on the action this morning, when they arrived at Canada House to meet with young Canadians.

Meghan looked particularly stylish for the event. The Duchess wore a forest green Erdem coat, accented with floral-patterned sequins, and what appeared to be a matching dress underneath. Her beloved Aquazzura Deneuve heels and a Givenchy clutch finished off the outfit.

The Erdem look was custom, based on a piece from the designer's fall 2019 runway collection. People pointed out that as Erdem Moralioglu was raised in between Canada and the U.K., the choice to wear his designs could be intended as a symbolic sign of unity between the two countries.

During their visit, some children gave Meghan and Harry a lesson in making maple taffy, a traditional Canadian springtime delicacy. The royal couple were also treated to a musical performance.

Meghan and Harry even got something to take home: a box of gifts for their soon-to-arrive baby. Canadian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Janice Charette presented the baby clothes to the royal couple, which included a maple leaf onesie.

This isn't the last we'll see from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex today. They're slated to attend the annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey, alongside several other members of the royal family.

For the uninitiated, the Commonwealth is an international association of 53 countries, many of which are former British colonies. And it seems that more and more, the Commonwealth is coming under Harry and Meghan's purview. Just this past Friday, Meghan was named vice president of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust, an organization championing Commonwealth youth leaders. Prince Harry had previously been appointed as the Trust's president.
