When Is Meghan Markle's Due Date?
It's official: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child together. After weeks of rumors and speculation, Kensington Palace publicly confirmed the happy news with a post on Twitter, before the royal couple official kicked off their royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand.
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019," reads the announcement. "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."
At this point, it's unclear exactly when the newest royal baby will arrive, but the Palace has confirmed that Meghan's due date is sometime in the Spring of 2019.
Meghan and Harry have been very open about wanting to start a family together. In an interview with the BBC shortly after the couple announced their engagement, Harry said they wanted to have children. "Not yet, no, but I think eventually, one step at a time, and we'll start a family in the near future,” he said.
And back in March, Meghan joked about wanting to have kids while in Belfast, Northern Ireland. While greeting an entrepreneur who makes baby products, Markle quipped “I’m sure at some point we’ll need the whole thing.”
Following the pregnancy announcement, Meghan and Harry's families have also shared their excitement about the news.
